DEEP BLACK LAYERS

Our finishing processes enable us to achieve very deep black layers through the application of high current densities and the addition of chromium oxide and chromium hydroxide particles to the chrome layer.

The optimized black chrome surfaces possess an incredible absorption capacity and are frequently used in the solar power industry. Black chrome also offers good thermal conductivity and high thermal resistance (up to 600°).

Thanks to its excellent absorption capacity, black chrome-plated parts are “low-glare.” The deep black metallic look is very stylish and black chrome layers are highly corrosion-resistant. For finishing black chrome parts, ODU uses state-of-the-art rack plating systems.
